My name is Joe Bailey, I work for S.Spencer Baker whom you designed the cover of “Slabscape: Reset” for. I just wanted to say that I really admire your work (even more so as someone who can barely draw stick men!).

    Keep up the incredible work.

    Kind regards,

    Joe Bailey.

    Hi Thomas,
I am interested. very nice works. i really like to know how you use brushes correctlly ?
very experienced. i’m a painter from Iran. and like to show my work to a master like you.

    • Hi Morteza,

Thank you, much appreciated. I guess using brushes all comes down to the material you want to convey. I would love to see your work.

    Hi, Thomas!

    Amazing work!!

I just wonder you only using digital software for your works??
The way you paint seems not finished only in digital.
Even if you say ‘yes’, I won’t believe!

I love to see your work…also, depressed as an illustrator….

    Still..Thank you for the challenge!!

    • Thank you sir!

Yep its all digital. Sometimes I’ll use an overlay with paint texture, but its all done in photoshop.

You shouldn’t be depressed, just keep at it. Everybody has different talents and no need to compare your work to mine!

  9. Jeffrey says:

    Dear Thomas,

Your artwork is absolutely amazing. It is truly breathtaking and awe-inspiring, and I have never felt so deeply connected to artwork as I have when I see yours. Dozens of museums, thousands of photos, and nothing compares to the level of detail and emotion in your work.

I can only imagine the effort and time you pour into every creation. I am curious, have you ever considered doing a recording of your process? I find it very interesting to see how artists work, and I think it would be a truly eye-opening experience to see how you process the detail you’re creating in your projects. I know that personally, I usually improve my abilities by watching someone already experienced work, and figure out how to modify the techniques I see. It’s a pretty large request, I know, I’m just so inspired by your work.

    • Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for your kind words, really appreciate it.

I’m working on a step by step for an upcoming issue of 2dArtist magazine, so keep your eyes out for it:)

  10. I do agree with all the concepts you have introduced for your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too brief for newbies. May you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.

Hello Thomas, cool to see a fellow Canadian artist. I live in Midland Ontario.

I am a freelancer as well trying to make it in the entertainment industry. I was wondering if you check out my portfolio and give me a critique of my work.

My art blog has a lot more process work and sketches: http://mackartwork.blogspot.ca/

    Thank you for your time.

Hey Thomas, great work on the Halo maps. I worked on the Halo 4 marketing art. Keep up the incredible work. I’m still taking concept classes to stop worrying about the details in my matte paintings and relax into just a simple piece of concept art.
